My Weekend :)

Friday night I was quite the bore.  I was exhausted from my work week so I decided to stay in for the night.
I poured myself a glass of Senor Sangria and hung out on the couch watching TV all night.
I’m really into making my own sangria but when you’re in a pinch store sold bottle sangria will have to do.
I’ve tried “Yago Sangria
yagosant27gria
& to be honest I’m not crazy about the taste AT ALL!  I couldn’t taste all the different flavors you usually taste in a great glass of sangria.  I actually ended up pouring the whole bottle down the sink the one time I purchased this.

Señor Sangria in “Classic Red” has been my go to store sold sangria!  If any of you ladies is looking for a great Sangria to try, this is your bottle!! Señor Sangria is sweet, satisfying and has just enough kick to remind you that you’re drinking.

Lately I’ve been getting a Shellac manicure at the nail salon.

Not a fan of regular manicures, but don’t want to ruin your nails with acrylics or gel nails? Well, a couple weeks ago I found a solution for all of you manicure lovers out there! This past spring CND came out with Shellac nail polish. You might be saying Shellac, hmm what is this exactly? Shellac is a cross between gel nails and traditional nail polish.  It gets applied like regular nail polish, but dries like a gel. Shellac gives your manicure a little more stability than the usual manicure, allowing it to last longer.
Shellac manicures take slightly more time because after each coat you have to put your hand under UV light. You are not getting as much UV light as you do with gels or acrylics. It is totally worth the few extra minutes, because immediately after you take your hand out of the UV light for the last time, your manicure is completely dry. I walked out of the salon a little hesitant, as I’m used to having to sit and let it dry for awhile before touching anything. I put my gloves on and when I took them off later, no smudges! It was a miracle; I could go about my regular business immediately after getting my manicure.

This is 4 days after my salon visit.  Still no chips.

Some people say they get bored of their color and wouldn’t want the same color on for two weeks.  I can see their point, but two weeks isn’t that long to me, and I just love looking down at my polished smudge free nails!

Late afternoon on Saturday my best friends Heather, Kim & I went to Toms River, NJ “SailFest.” This sailboat regatta, street fair and shore party includes food, craft vendors, music and dancing. The girls and I had a great time!

After “SailFest,” the girls and I ate dinner at Wharfside Patio Bar & Restaurant. I always enjoy going to Wharfside in the summer when the weathers warm because the restaurant has a live band that plays great music, delicious food and its located right on the water!

Rutgers is a melting pot for all forces football. Rutgers intermixes south Jersey, Philly, central Jersey, New York, and north Jersey together. The only reason why we are called "New York's Team" is because we are literally the closest major college football team to New York. We could also be called Philadelphia's team because we are the closest BCS division football team to Philly as well, but since there are so many Penn State campuses in the Philadelphia area, many of the fans find allegiance in Penn State, which is about an hour or more further from the city than Rutgers is.

Many of our fans may be newer to the college football game, but the 20,000 original fans that were there through it all will bleed Rutgers til the end. We have the dedication of Philly towards giving other teams the business, but the attitude of New York that we love a winner and will celebrate and attend as such. We expect effort and applaud effort and excellent coaching. Likewise, we will question the opposite if we see something that we don't like. And we welcome newcomers with open arms because we want the Scarlet Knight "family" to be as big as it can be.

My Heart Belongs To The Yankees

Last Wednesday, June 8th I went to Yankee Stadium to see
The New York Yankees vs. Boston Rd Sox game.
The weather for Wednesday was brutal, mid 90s!!
Steve and I got these tickets in April and a week or two ago my best friend Heather and I were talking about the Yankees and she mentioned she was taking her little sister to the exactsame game and her little sisters birthday gift.  We had no idea we were going to be at the same game together so we were stoked!

The game ended with the Yankees loosing 11-6!  We left the top of the 8th and between that time and the time the game ended the Red Sox gained 3 pts!  We couldn't believe it!
Even with a loss, and a crazy heat wave, the game was still a lot of fun!!

My mom, sister and I got my dad tickets for Father's Day to the New York Yankees vs the Colorado Rockies game on Saturday 6/25/2011.  Hopefully the get a win this time!!

NY Yankees!

Last night Steve & I went to our first Yankee game of the season!

I like baseball but I can never get into it watching tv, live games are the best!
Steve and I think this has been our 4th or 5th Yankee game since last April.
During the game they were putting people flexing their muscles on the big stadium screen.  I was flexing just to be silly and I ended up being on the big screen!! I couldn't believe it!  I saw myself and freaked out and was like "Steve! Steve!" because he wasn't watching.  ahah! What are the odds?!
We left the game at the bottom of the 7th to beat traffic, and Yankees were winning 4-1.
By the time we got back to my house, 40 minutes later the score was 4-4!!
Yankees ended up losing the whole game :(

We're hoping to go to many more games this season, and a good Yankees season!
