My Weekend :)

Friday night I was quite the bore.  I was exhausted from my work week so I decided to stay in for the night.
I poured myself a glass of Senor Sangria and hung out on the couch watching TV all night.
I’m really into making my own sangria but when you’re in a pinch store sold bottle sangria will have to do.
I’ve tried “Yago Sangria
yagosant27gria
& to be honest I’m not crazy about the taste AT ALL!  I couldn’t taste all the different flavors you usually taste in a great glass of sangria.  I actually ended up pouring the whole bottle down the sink the one time I purchased this.

Señor Sangria in “Classic Red” has been my go to store sold sangria!  If any of you ladies is looking for a great Sangria to try, this is your bottle!! Señor Sangria is sweet, satisfying and has just enough kick to remind you that you’re drinking.

Lately I’ve been getting a Shellac manicure at the nail salon.

Not a fan of regular manicures, but don’t want to ruin your nails with acrylics or gel nails? Well, a couple weeks ago I found a solution for all of you manicure lovers out there! This past spring CND came out with Shellac nail polish. You might be saying Shellac, hmm what is this exactly? Shellac is a cross between gel nails and traditional nail polish.  It gets applied like regular nail polish, but dries like a gel. Shellac gives your manicure a little more stability than the usual manicure, allowing it to last longer.
Shellac manicures take slightly more time because after each coat you have to put your hand under UV light. You are not getting as much UV light as you do with gels or acrylics. It is totally worth the few extra minutes, because immediately after you take your hand out of the UV light for the last time, your manicure is completely dry. I walked out of the salon a little hesitant, as I’m used to having to sit and let it dry for awhile before touching anything. I put my gloves on and when I took them off later, no smudges! It was a miracle; I could go about my regular business immediately after getting my manicure.

This is 4 days after my salon visit.  Still no chips.

Some people say they get bored of their color and wouldn’t want the same color on for two weeks.  I can see their point, but two weeks isn’t that long to me, and I just love looking down at my polished smudge free nails!

Late afternoon on Saturday my best friends Heather, Kim & I went to Toms River, NJ “SailFest.” This sailboat regatta, street fair and shore party includes food, craft vendors, music and dancing. The girls and I had a great time!

After “SailFest,” the girls and I ate dinner at Wharfside Patio Bar & Restaurant. I always enjoy going to Wharfside in the summer when the weathers warm because the restaurant has a live band that plays great music, delicious food and its located right on the water!

Meet Vicki ~ Guest Blogger!

[Meet Vicki]
YES! I got Vicki to do a guest post for me! I’ve also known Vicki for about 11 years, the same amount of time I’ve known Cami, from her guest post!!  And the AWESOME part is Vicki, Cami and I have been friends together for those 11 years!  These ladies including lots others are a HUGE part in my life!
This girl seriously knows how to speak my language when it comes to posting some good things on a blog to capture her readers! I know you'll enjoy it too when you read this post!

Hey everyone! I'm Vicki (from My Vickilicious Life) - guest posting for Katie! I was trying to figure out what to write about here today, and I decided to tell you about The Coolest Thing I've Ever Done♥M (my super-amazing boyfriend of five and a half years) and I loveeee to travel! Together we've been to the Poconos, Las Vegas, Bahamas, Niagra Falls, a Caribbean cruise and then most recently: a cruise to ALASKA! Which leads me to the point of this post:
While in Alaska we took a helicopter ride and landed on a glacier!!!  Now I was super-freaked out to be going on a helicopter ... I hate heights and I was very, very scared ... but I knew it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and I would seriously regret it later if we didn't do it ... besides, I would have ♥M right besides me the entire time! How bad could it be?!
So we go, and first we sign a form with our name, height, weight (I had no idea why at the time) and they suit us up with "Glacier boots" and then we sit through a quick video explaining what to expect and how to act.  Ok, so far so good ... I can handle this ... then it happens ...
The instructors announce the order in which we are going to be sitting based on our height/weight that we gave them earlier.  This is to balance the weight of the helicopter.  So, I'm not sitting next to ♥M.  Enter mini-panic attack.  ♥M loves to tell this story because he says that as we are walking to the runway strip to the helicopter I'm yelling out every curse I can to him, and I throw my big-ass sunglasses on and all he sees is a single tear drip down my face from below the sunglasses ... hehe.
So, we get on the helicopter ... and I end up seated right next to the pilot, who was awesome! Everyone is seated and we are about to take off and the pilot looked at me and could see how nervous I was and he smiled at me and patted my leg and said "Don't worry, it's going to be fine ... I've done this before!" So, at least I cracked a smile ... and off we went.  As we were in the air he told us he was a former Air Force pilot and spent many months in Iraq ... and my nerves started to ease, if this guy could fly in Iraq and dodge bombs and whatever horrors happen over there, he can easily get a few tourists to a glacier in one piece! So we are in the air, in a helicopter, and it is the most amazing experience of my life!  Seriously, I want to always travel via helicopter! It was simply amazing!
This was me immediately getting off the helicopter, at the time I said it was my "I rode a helicopter and survived" picture ... Landing on the glacier was truly an amazing, amazing thing! The magnitude of beauty was something I couldn't of even dreamed of! (BTW: I believe this is the first picture I've ever posted of myself anywhere in the blog-world)
The Glacier water was crystal clean and the most electric blue I had ever witnessed. There were huge ditches that couldn't even be describes as ditches, they were mountains really with holes so deep you couldn't believe your eyes! And there was running water at the bottom of it, it was truly a breathtaking sight.
Now you may or may not know about me, but I am a complete sucker for waterfalls.  I think there are few things in life more beautiful, peaceful and down right amazing.  So imagine my disbelief when exploring the glacier a little bit we find a waterfall!
Overall the entire cruise to Alaska was an amazing experience! I think everyone should do it at least once in their life ... and if you have the opportunity to take a helicopter ride either to land on a glacier or otherwise, DO IT! It was seriously, without a doubt The coolest, most memorable, amazing thing I have ever done in my life!  Before I go, I'll leave you with one last picture from the beautiful Alaskan glacier:
Breathtaking! ::sigh::
Thanks Katie, for giving me the opportunity to Guest Host! Love ya girlie!!!! xoxoxoxo

Meet Cami – Guest Blogger!

As soon as Katie said she was looking for guest bloggers – I got so excited! I absolutely adore Katie – she’s such a sweetie and has such a great heart! She often shares things she is passionate about. So, as a guest poster I wanted to share what I am passionate about.

My name is Cami and my passion is working with Baby Pickel.

Baby Pickel? Say whaaaaat? What the heck is that?

clip_image002

Well, keep reading!

Baby Pickel is a little over a year old. It is not only a company, but a ministry. The overall goal of Baby Pickel is to help single moms and families in need. We do so in a multitude of ways. We provide open ears, spiritual guidance, and tangible donations to those in need.  Baby Pickel is driven by God – doing what He commands them to do – help and love others in any way possible. We are able to bless others due to the kindness and giving hearts of others.

Also, if you are need of a baby shower gift, look no further! That is also where we come in a sweep the day. A Baby Pickel baby jar (great gift for a new momma – includes a whole set of clothes for a newborn!) is not only adorable but for every one purchased, one is donated to a single momma in need! How COOL is that?!

clip_image004

My favorite new addition to molding Baby Pickel into what it is today is the fact that we are able to help employee single mommas out there who need some extra income. (If you’re reading this and this happens to be you OR you might know someone, please let me know!) Shoot me an e-mail at pickelfacebook(at)live(dot)com and I will let ya in on the little secret! ;) It makes me so happy that I’m able to give back as much as I am.

Some fun facts about Baby Pickel is that we have aided almost 500 families and raised close to $10,000 in donation/tangible goods – with near 2,000 followers including their very own growing social network. (DedicatedLovers.com) –In just over a little more than a year! Praise God!

If you have any questions or ideas for us, please let me know. I love hearing what people have to say about Baby Pickel – especially when it deals with ideas of creativity!

Weekend Recap & GTKY!

Friday- My roommates Jess, Rebecca and I did a little girl time running errands and such.  The girls wanted to go tanning and Jess had a free tan so she let me use it at Beach Bum Tanning.  I went in the platinum level bed for 8 minutes.  It's nuts how many freckles came out on my face in that short period of time.  Then we went to the Verizon store because Rebecca and I are looking to get the iPhone and it just came out in white!  Rebeccas studying abroad starting the end of August and the iPhone doesn't have international so she can't use it.  Plus, the iPhone 5 is "supposedly" coming out this October so I think I may wait.  Then we went to "Face Value" to look at nail polish!  I really think my extreme nail polish hoarding really revved up all because of them and their love for nail polish.  We did contain ourselves and walked out empty handed :)  We had lunch at Buffalo Wild Wings.  So delicious!! After a filling meal we came home to get beautified for a night out.  My best friend Heather came up (like she usually does) because Friday may be one of our last good, fun college nights out before the semester ends :(

Saturday: I came home for Steves Birthday!
I Love You Steve!  I went to his house so he could open his gifts. I forgot to take pictures :( ... I got him new Nike gym sneakers, plaid shorts and a Tshirt that says "Los Cabos".  My family gave him bathing suits, so he's all set for vacation now.  We watched the Yankees play against Toronto, Yankees won 5-4.  It was a good game! I was going to get Steve tickets for that game and I'm mad I ended up not getting them.  After the game we headed to the mall so he could return so clothes and look for things for vacation.  I ended up buying these items from New York & Company.
Tropical Paradise Maxi Dress
$41.96

Slubbed Sleeveless V-Neck Top with Ruffle Embellishment

Chic Chain-Accented Bag
White Leather Handbag - $30.06

I only went to Victoria Secret beause my surprise amount-off coupon was expiring.
I also had $10 off coupons, and a free panty coupon.
I bought 3 new pairs of underwear, an orange PINK tee not picured online, and PINK coral shorts.
Steve and I had a small dinner, we split a plate because we both weren't extremely hungry, then saw the new FAST 5 movie!!
Fast Five is full of beautiful cars, beautiful women and
GOREGOUS SEXY MEN!!
*PAUL WALKER* and VIN DIESEL!
Both of these men are truely so sexy in my eyes :)

I've been a huge fan of the "Fast and the Furious" movies since the beginning.  All of them are part of my "Favorite Movies."
Fast 5 didn't disappoint!! It's full of action, suspense, and good laughs.  There were so many toe-curling-moments!  I really enjoyed it and would recommend seeing it!

That was pretty much my whole weekend!
