My Weekend :)

Friday night I was quite the bore.  I was exhausted from my work week so I decided to stay in for the night. 
I poured myself a glass of Senor Sangria and hung out on the couch watching TV all night.
I’m really into making my own sangria but when you’re in a pinch store sold bottle sangria will have to do.
I’ve tried “Yago Sangria”

& to be honest I’m not crazy about the taste AT ALL!  I couldn’t taste all the different flavors you usually taste in a great glass of sangria.  I actually ended up pouring the whole bottle down the sink the one time I purchased this.


Señor Sangria in “Classic Red” has been my go to store sold sangria!  If any of you ladies is looking for a great Sangria to try, this is your bottle!! Señor Sangria is sweet, satisfying and has just enough kick to remind you that you’re drinking.

Lately I’ve been getting a Shellac manicure at the nail salon.

Not a fan of regular manicures, but don’t want to ruin your nails with acrylics or gel nails? Well, a couple weeks ago I found a solution for all of you manicure lovers out there! This past spring CND came out with Shellac nail polish. You might be saying Shellac, hmm what is this exactly? Shellac is a cross between gel nails and traditional nail polish.  It gets applied like regular nail polish, but dries like a gel. Shellac gives your manicure a little more stability than the usual manicure, allowing it to last longer.
Shellac manicures take slightly more time because after each coat you have to put your hand under UV light. You are not getting as much UV light as you do with gels or acrylics. It is totally worth the few extra minutes, because immediately after you take your hand out of the UV light for the last time, your manicure is completely dry. I walked out of the salon a little hesitant, as I’m used to having to sit and let it dry for awhile before touching anything. I put my gloves on and when I took them off later, no smudges! It was a miracle; I could go about my regular business immediately after getting my manicure.

This is 4 days after my salon visit.  Still no chips.

Some people say they get bored of their color and wouldn’t want the same color on for two weeks.  I can see their point, but two weeks isn’t that long to me, and I just love looking down at my polished smudge free nails!

Late afternoon on Saturday my best friends Heather, Kim & I went to Toms River, NJ “SailFest.” This sailboat regatta, street fair and shore party includes food, craft vendors, music and dancing. The girls and I had a great time!

After “SailFest,” the girls and I ate dinner at Wharfside Patio Bar & Restaurant. I always enjoy going to Wharfside in the summer when the weathers warm because the restaurant has a live band that plays great music, delicious food and its located right on the water!

This was very emotional to watch. I wish people understood this. They don't care until it happens to them or someone they love. Luckily, I learned the lesson of cancer early, thank goodness or I'd probably be irresponsible as well, thinking it could never happen to me.

I used to worship the sun, worship tanning beds too. I got a pretty decent burn on accident at the beginning of the summer and am so disappointed in myself.

As much as I miss my tan skin...I love my life more.

Happy Mothers Day to all you mommies out there!

Every year, for the past few years, Mother’s Day has been a very special day for me. It is a celebration of motherhood, of womanhood, and of the person who has had the greatest influence on my life – my mother. And every year, as I discover more about my self, about humanity and the world, I become more grateful for everything my mother did and the values she instilled in me. I also become more aware of how difficult it must have been for her, how incredibly challenging.  Now, with each passing day, as I fumble through life, my gratitude deepens and my admiration for her grows.

 I can never thank her enough for all she provided for me, nurtured in me, and demonstrated to me. My mother is unequivocally the most beautiful woman in the world – she radiates spirit, joy and light. 

Today I celebrate her! Thank you for my life – I love you!

Happy Valentine's Day!!

I know this Hallmark holiday can be rough on some ladies.. It really makes you realize how much you really truly, honestly need your girlfriends in your life.  Enjoy this time while it's just about YOU. Work on YOU. Treat YOU. YOU are loved!! & To anyone feeling lonely tonight, just remember: someone on The Bachelor will definitely be worse off than you.

Steve came up to my house earlier and we went to go see no strings attached and then got a little something to eat because we both weren't super hungry.  Steve couldnt stay long because he has a 8AM class tomorrow morning and has work to do tonight.  Atleast we got to spend most of the day together.


I've been wanting to see this movie for awhile now and I'm glad we finally found the time. A guy and girl try to keep their relationship strictly physical, but it's not long before they learn that they want something more.  The film was amusing because I've tried the no strings attached thing, doesn't work.. lol

Steve got me a beautiful arrangement of flowers with 3 red roses.  The 3 red roses symbolize the 3 Valentine's Days we've spent together as a couple.  I also got a "Love You" balloon and milk chocolate.

Acouple weeks ago Steve let me pick out some shirts from Express since he had a coupon, which went toward my Valentines Day gift, isn't he sweet? ;)

I gave Steve a unique gift but I knew he'd love it which he did!

My Weekend

[Friday]  Rebecca, Gina and I were going to go out to the bars but we were all tired after our gym workouts, so we decided to stay in.  We bought bottles of wine and watched the movie "Blow".  I'm a HUGE Johnny Depp fan, I think hes unbelieveably HOT and also the range of unconventional roles he has taken and how well he executes the characters. The start of my Johnny Depp love began when I was in middle school and saw the movie "Edward Sissorhands". 

I can't believe I've never seen "Blow", the story was intriging and the ending even made me cry a little.  If you haven't seen it, watch it :)  Can't wait for the new Pirates of the Caribeean movie!!

[Saturday]  I came home for SuperBowl weekend.  I went to my favorite place Hemmingways with my best friends Heather & I.  Hemmingways is like a must go to when I come home.  It makes the complete feeling! hah

[Sunday] was a BIG DAY!!! STEELERS ALLL DAY LOONG BABY!!!  My family had a superbowl party since we're all Steelers fans and have black and gold blood running through our veins!


I was so hyped up for this game!!  

Yess..  I know the Steelers ended up loosing, but i still LOVE my team!!!

What did everyone thing about Christina's singing and the half time show??

I realize Christina made a mistake but people are bashing her pretty hard about it and am I the only one who thought the halftime show rocked?!?! I love the Black Eyed Peas and thought the but on an awesome show, the music and sining to me was fine.  And of course Usher always knows how to put it on!!

My Weekend :)

It’s Monday. Ugh.

 I don’t know why I react the same way every Monday.

It’s not like Monday’s are going anywhere.

 Sigh…

Thursday night my closest cousin Kelly had her little baby boy!

Graham Elliot (last name) Jr.  "Elliot"

Born 7:26 pm; 1/27/11.  8 pounds, 8 ounces. 21.5 inches

Kelly lives in Atlanta so I'm bummed that I can't meet this new little bundle of joy yet.  But I've been over the moon ecstatic that hes finally here.  I've been waiting for her to have a baby for literally years.  My cousin Kelly and I have 8 year age difference between us but we've been close all our lives, we even share the same birthday!  I feel now that I'm in my twenties and she's gone through a lot of the things I'm dealing/dealt with, that our relationship is even closer.  I love it!

Friday I stayed home, it was nice.

Saturday I celebrated my best friend Kim's 23rd birthday in NYC.  Kim is a twin so it was a conjoined party for her and her twin brother Frank.  Franks friends I've known all through high school until now so it was a good time hanging out with my girlfriends and close friends I've known for awhile.  We all took the bus into the city and went to McFaddens.  We got there around 10PM and to be honest I wasnt really feeling the bar, and a lot of people weren't either.  It was different then bars at home, but after an hour we all started having a really good time.  They played a whole mix of different music and the bartenders put on a great show by dancing on the bar and singing along to the songs.  We didn't get home until after 3AM and all day Sunday I was dead tired.  I kinda felt like I was a little too old to be partying in the city and staying out late, but thats the time I get in sometimes when I'm out at home so i dont know why I was dragging so bad??..

Pat dancing with our waitress.  Okay theres a story with this girl.  When we first sat down she gave us our menus and talked to our table.  And while she was talking to us she had her arm around my friend Matt and was leaning into him a little too close!  When she was asking Steve what he wanted to drink she had her hand on his thigh! She was a little flirt!  It was hilarious and was our entertainment for the night.  She obviously thought her sh*t didn't stink and you couldn't help but laugh at her!  We'd be dancing and she'd come over to my guy friends and start like shaking her boobs and rubbing her body.  All of us were like "This girl can't be serious, she needs a reality check!!"  It was a good laugh.
