Meet Vicki ~ Guest Blogger!

[Meet Vicki]
YES! I got Vicki to do a guest post for me! I’ve also known Vicki for about 11 years, the same amount of time I’ve known Cami, from her guest post!!  And the AWESOME part is Vicki, Cami and I have been friends together for those 11 years!  These ladies including lots others are a HUGE part in my life!
This girl seriously knows how to speak my language when it comes to posting some good things on a blog to capture her readers! I know you'll enjoy it too when you read this post!

Hey everyone! I'm Vicki (from My Vickilicious Life) - guest posting for Katie! I was trying to figure out what to write about here today, and I decided to tell you about The Coolest Thing I've Ever Done♥M (my super-amazing boyfriend of five and a half years) and I loveeee to travel! Together we've been to the Poconos, Las Vegas, Bahamas, Niagra Falls, a Caribbean cruise and then most recently: a cruise to ALASKA! Which leads me to the point of this post:
While in Alaska we took a helicopter ride and landed on a glacier!!!  Now I was super-freaked out to be going on a helicopter ... I hate heights and I was very, very scared ... but I knew it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and I would seriously regret it later if we didn't do it ... besides, I would have ♥M right besides me the entire time! How bad could it be?!
So we go, and first we sign a form with our name, height, weight (I had no idea why at the time) and they suit us up with "Glacier boots" and then we sit through a quick video explaining what to expect and how to act.  Ok, so far so good ... I can handle this ... then it happens ...
The instructors announce the order in which we are going to be sitting based on our height/weight that we gave them earlier.  This is to balance the weight of the helicopter.  So, I'm not sitting next to ♥M.  Enter mini-panic attack.  ♥M loves to tell this story because he says that as we are walking to the runway strip to the helicopter I'm yelling out every curse I can to him, and I throw my big-ass sunglasses on and all he sees is a single tear drip down my face from below the sunglasses ... hehe.
So, we get on the helicopter ... and I end up seated right next to the pilot, who was awesome! Everyone is seated and we are about to take off and the pilot looked at me and could see how nervous I was and he smiled at me and patted my leg and said "Don't worry, it's going to be fine ... I've done this before!" So, at least I cracked a smile ... and off we went.  As we were in the air he told us he was a former Air Force pilot and spent many months in Iraq ... and my nerves started to ease, if this guy could fly in Iraq and dodge bombs and whatever horrors happen over there, he can easily get a few tourists to a glacier in one piece! So we are in the air, in a helicopter, and it is the most amazing experience of my life!  Seriously, I want to always travel via helicopter! It was simply amazing!
This was me immediately getting off the helicopter, at the time I said it was my "I rode a helicopter and survived" picture ... Landing on the glacier was truly an amazing, amazing thing! The magnitude of beauty was something I couldn't of even dreamed of! (BTW: I believe this is the first picture I've ever posted of myself anywhere in the blog-world)
The Glacier water was crystal clean and the most electric blue I had ever witnessed. There were huge ditches that couldn't even be describes as ditches, they were mountains really with holes so deep you couldn't believe your eyes! And there was running water at the bottom of it, it was truly a breathtaking sight.
Now you may or may not know about me, but I am a complete sucker for waterfalls.  I think there are few things in life more beautiful, peaceful and down right amazing.  So imagine my disbelief when exploring the glacier a little bit we find a waterfall!
Overall the entire cruise to Alaska was an amazing experience! I think everyone should do it at least once in their life ... and if you have the opportunity to take a helicopter ride either to land on a glacier or otherwise, DO IT! It was seriously, without a doubt The coolest, most memorable, amazing thing I have ever done in my life!  Before I go, I'll leave you with one last picture from the beautiful Alaskan glacier:
Breathtaking! ::sigh::
Thanks Katie, for giving me the opportunity to Guest Host! Love ya girlie!!!! xoxoxoxo
