Osama bin Laden, leader of al-Qaeda, mastermind of the September 11th
terrorist attacks and the world’s most wanted man for almost a decade is dead.
The death of Osama bin Laden at the hands of American forces might bring a measure of justice, the families of victims of the Sept. 11 attacks said Sunday, but as one noted on msnbc.com : "There's no such thing as closure." Bin Laden's death doesn't end the threat of terrorism in the U.S. or abroad. Many segments will try to avenge this, there's still a great danger there. I was pleased to hear President Obama announce Osama's death because he's finally punished for his crimes but it doesn't change the loss for the families left behind. It doesn't bring back all the wonderful people who were killed 10 years ago.

"All NYPD officers were warned to be on alert last night for retaliation from terrorists in response to Osama Bin Laden's death." "Around the world, the United States put its embassies on alert, and warned Americans abroad of possible Al Qaeda reprisal attacks." "There is no doubt that Al Qaeda will continue to pursue attacks against us," President Obama told the nation in his late night address. "Vincent Cannistraro, former CIA counter-terror chief, said U.S. should be - and will be - on high alert for revenge attacks. But he said he doubted there were any complex plots in the works."

As a New Yorker - and someone who works just blocks from Ground Zero, I cannot tell you how amazing it felt to be in NYC today ... we will never forget the people we loss on 9/11, but knowing that monster is dead brings us a little peace. I AM PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN (AND A NEW YORKER)
