Winter Wonderland Take 5

Last night about midnight I'm laying in my bed checking some information on my schools website when I hear a really loud yelling.  I figured it was from the TV downstairs because my roommate was down there.  Then about 5 minutes later I hear it again coming down my street.  I ran over to my bedroom window to find our towns police car driving with all its lights on and cop yelling out of a megaphone "Attention!! Attention!! This is (my towns name) police!  You must come outside to shovel and remove all cars off the streets.  Failure to do so and your car will be ticketed and towed!!"  I opened my room and yelled down to my roommate Jess asking if she heard it.  We then told our other roommate Gina, and she remembered Rebecca had her car on the street.  Rebecca sleeps like a log so we had to scream and bang on her door acouple times until she woke up.  We all got dressed to help Rebecca shovel and we walked out to a blizzard!  There was so much snow on the ground!  There was about 30 ppl from my street outside removing snow and trying to get cars out.  Everything was a mess so cars were slidding and getting stuck everywhere.
**Look how crazy it was!**

After a hour and a half of shoveling we came inside to find out we had a delayed opening until 11:30AM.  Are they serious?  Have the administrators of my school not stepped outside and seen this ridiculous snow falling?  I have 4 classes on Thursdays and only one of them was canceled.
Today my roommates and I went outside about 9AM and attempted to the mound of snow that was in front of our house.  I'm really not cut out for shoveling.  Its to heavy, I start getting furious and not one nice thing comes out of my mouth.  And the super cool thing was that our landlord came over to "help" at noon.  I know in our lease it says its our responsibility to shovel the snow, but come on buddy your timing was a little late!

Anyway I trecked to my 1:30PM class before, and I'm so glad I invested in rainboots.  I bought black ones in some kind of crocodile print.  I had to make them cute somehow.  I stepped in the most disgusting slush and puddles above my ankles..  2 more classes of fun!! yayy!....
some what shoveled...

I cannot beee-lieve all the snow you guys have up there! My friends in CT are a little snowed in, too! People flip out here over a few inches...and my street is one of the last to get plowed. Tear :( But our snow is now melting and looks ugly...

OMG, that is just ridiculous. If we EVER got that much snow in Texas (never going to happen), the entire city would shut down because we are not equipped to handle that mess. Class??? There is no way I would have trekked my butt to class in that. (well, yes I would have because I would have had too, but I would have NOT been happy about it). Warm wishes from Texas girl!!!

Really, I'm quite sick of this snow as well. I was out shoveling yesterday since we got a foot of snow the night before (MD really has missed snow storms) and hurt my back doing so! It was the heaviest snow ever. I think bc the weather man said it had so much moisture in it. I'm so ready for spring!!

Wow! You guys got a ton of snow! I can't believe they had people come out and try to move their cars in all of that. Be safe!

I am a recent RU grad.. so nice to find another RU blogger.

At least RU started canceling classes and doing delayed opens... until a few years ago they used to not cancel classes for anything - it was pretty ridiculous.
