human papilloma virus

We need to bring more awareness to the public!!

I've been an active member raising awareness about cervical cancer for about 4 years now.
And I think schools, doctors, and the media need to aware teenagers about the dangers of the human papilloma virus also known as HPV.

Human papillomavirus (HPV) is the most common sexually transmitted virus in the United States. At least 50% of sexually active people will have genital HPV at some time in their lives.
Most of the time, HPV goes away by itself within two years and does not cause health problems. It is thought that the immune system fights off HPV naturally. It is only when HPV stays in the body for many years that it can cause these cancers. It is not known why HPV goes away in most, but not all cases. There is no way to know which people will go on to develop cancer or other health problems.

April is STD awareness month! Please pass the word on about the dangers of HPV!
Most young women are so unaware of this infection!
THANKS!!
